And even as more than a fortnight passes by the unfateful day of June 25,the mourning does not seem to end. A survey done in the city shows over 500 mobile users in the city have punched the buttons on their mobiles to select songs from Jacksons popular albums for their caller tunes and mobile companies say the creation of this special feature in the caller tune section has met with the response of not just regular caller tune users but also the non users of caller tunes who have registered especially to select Jacksons songs as their hello tunes.

Sanchita Dave and her friends,a group of 15,all of who had popular Bollywood tracks as their caller tunes a week back switched to They Dont Really Care About Us,Beat It and Dangerous. This bunch of college goers wanted to express their fondness for the pop icon through their caller tunes. The day he died we all were bereaved. He was not just a singing and dancing sensation but an idol for generations of singers and he will remain so in the years to come. Changing our caller tunes was an action to show his indelible imprints in our lives.

While the college goers change their caller tunes to express their fondness for the rock star,Rajendra Upashi relives his college days and love for the Earth Song by registering for a caller tune service for the first time in five years of his mobile. I have never registered for a caller tune since I started using mobile and that was way back in 2004. I always used to think it is childish. But now when the man who breezed through the young me in college through his energetic songs,I thought making one of his songs as my caller tune would be a humble offering of a fan, says Upashi whose 15-year-old daughter coached him through the process of selecting a caller tune. Chandrashekhar Nalvade whose two kids recently changed their caller tunes to Black or White and They Dont Really Care About Us followed suit to pay tribute to the pop star who made his college life colourful with his songs. My 13-year-old recently changed his caller tune and the other day when he was late for home I gave him a ring and heard Black or White as his caller tune. I have never used caller tune service. Of course I find it childish but for Jackson I registered for it. Today if you ring me you will hear my favourite track. This is my tribute to the man who made me headbang into rock during my college days.

A customer care executive at Vodafone store said that on an average the customer care executives receive 50 calls a day to request for popular tracks from various albums of Michael Jackson. Many of them who request for Michael Jackson songs are the first time user of caller tunes. They register for the first time and the company has made many new caller tune users after Jacksons demise, he said.

Beat It,Dangerous,They dont Really Care about us,Black or White and Earth Song are the five most popular track being selected by caller tune users.
