Clearing decks for the completion of the revised Development Plan (DP) for the old part of city, the Bombay High Court on Monday rejected the plea challenging the civic administrations procedure in preparing the draft DP and seeking its cancellation.
The plea filed by BJP corporator Ashok Yenpure and Shiv Sena corporator Prashant Badhe cited that the procedure followed by the civic administration was not as per the provisions of BPMC Act.
The plea was rejected by the High Court. The court maintained that suggestion and objections on the draft DP can be submitted in the ongoing process, said city engineer Prashant Waghmare.
He said the citizens can submit their suggestions and objections in normal application format. The suggestions and objections can also be submitted by mailing them to city engineer or municipal commissioners office, added Waghmare.
The civic administration will scrutinize the applications and conduct a hearing on it. The draft will then again be tabled in the general body for final approval before it is sent to the state government.
