Barring Siddharth (30),the rest are all under-21. Some of their main influences are Protest The Hero,Architects,Sikth,Periphery,Porcupine Tree,Karnivool,Between the Buried and Me and Dance Gavin Dance. “Our music appeals to a younger audience; I’d say anyone below 30. We’re influenced by new-age bands that we’ve grown up listening to. We can’t expect an older audience to connect with the music,” Krishna says. A law student,Krishna has also learnt Indian classical music. “We all hope that music gets us somewhere. We will continue making music,no matter what the response,” he says.

Two years ago,their music was calmer and more mellow. Now,it’s heavier and more ‘progressive’ than ‘alternative’ rock. “I’ve adapted to their kind of music. It appeals to me. Being with them,I’ve been introduced to some bands that I’d never even heard of three years ago,” says Siddharth. He,along with Arman,writes the lyrics for the band. They translate their feelings and experiences into lyrics. “For example,the track ‘Visionary’ happened just by accident. I had major writer’s block and I was going through this ’emo’ phase. I kept tweeting about my feelings. I gathered a bunch of these tweets,rearranged them and that became ‘Visionary’,” he describes. In November 2011,at the NH7 Weekender,Goddess Gagged released its first album ‘Resurfaces’.

Ask Siddharth about the chemistry he shares with the younger members of the band and he grins,”It sounds cliched,but in my head,I’m not 30! In fact,these guys have a hard time keeping up with me!” It’s easy to believe him as he is into different music at the same time. He recently sang two tracks for the Bollywood film Players . “One is the title track – a duet with Neeraj Shridhar,and the other is the album version for Jhoom Jhoom,” he says. “I’d never thought I’d do Bollywood. The first film I sang for was Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted 3D. That just sort of fell into my lap. It’s difficult yet exciting,” he says.
