FIR filed in Solapur over attack on comedian Pranit More, Veer Pahariya apologises

But he did not come. So we have filed a case based on the complaint given by the restaurant manager. The FIR was registered on Tuesday night," said Lakde.

An FIR was filed against at least 10 people at the Sadar Bazar police station in Solapur for their alleged involvement in an attack on comedian Pranit More over a joke on actor Veer Pahariya.

Police said the FIR was filed on Tuesday by the manager of a bar in Solapur where More was performing and later attacked.

More alleged that one Tanveer Shaikh with 10 to 12 people confronted him about the reel after his show in Solapur and attacked him, leading to injuries on his back, stomach, and head. More also accused the Solapur police of not providing any help immediately after the incident.

Senior Inspector Ajit Lakde, in-charge of Sadar Bazar police station, said, “After we received information about the incident (on February 4), we asked the performer to register an FIR with us. But he did not come. So we have filed a case based on the complaint given by the restaurant manager. The FIR was registered on Tuesday night,” said Lakde.

“We have booked a person identified as Tanveer Shaikh and 10 to 12 of his accomplices,” said the senior inspector.

On his part, Pahariya issued an apology to More. “I want to make it clear – I had no involvement in this, and I strongly condemn any form of violence…To Pranit and his fans – I am deeply sorry that this happened. No one deserves this. I will personally ensure that whoever was responsible is held accountable. My sincerest apologies again,” Pahariya wrote in his Instagram story.
