Exhibition at Azam campus

An exhibition of the “Ninety-Nine Names of Allah” by Iqbal Ahmed is being held at the Azam Campus from the September 10 to 13.

An exhibition of the “Ninety-Nine Names of Allah” by Iqbal Ahmed is being held at the Azam Campus from the September 10 to 13. The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof Akhtar-ul-Wasey,director of the Zakir Hussain Institute of Islamic Studies at Delhi’s Jamia Millia University. The venue is The Assembly Hall, Gulam Azam Campus,Near Golibar Maidan,Camp. The timing is 550 pm till midnight.

Iqbal Ahmed was born in Pune in 1945 and had been a student of the Ornellaâ’s School and Abhinav Kala Vidyalaya. In addition to painting with oil and sketching caricatures,Iqbal began to experiment with Arabic Calligraphy in the early eighties,using abstract elements to recreate the Arabic alphabet. Transferring this artistic innovation to the virtual realm through computers created the first true turning point in the realization of Iqbal Ahmed’s vision. He now uses programmes like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create patterns,motifs and abstract forms,stated a press release.
