Days after the elections,the Electronic Voting Machines(EVM) from the various assembly constituencies in the district have been kept under the surveillance of the Central Paramilitary Forces at the Shivajinagar godown. The counting is slated for October 22.
District collector Chandrakant Dalvi said that all precautions have been taken to ensure security of these EVMs. One company of the CRPF is keeping guard in the area. “We have installed CCTVs inside and outside the godown and all the rooms have been locked,” said Dalvi.
The district administration has roped in the CPF for all the counting centres. While counting of votes for the eight constituencies in the city will take place at the godown at Shivajinagar,counting for the two urban constituencies of Chinchwad and Bhosari will be at Balewadi sports stadium while Pimpri assembly constituency’s counting will be done at PMPL depot at Nehrunagar.
The other talukas in the district will have the counting in their respective areas. Junnar’s will be at government godown,Ambegaon will be at government sports ground,Khed Alandi will be at Hutatma Shivram krida sankul,Shirur’s is at Kukadi prakalp Karyalaya sanskrutik hall,Daund and Indapur will have their counting at their respective government godowns,Baramati’s will be at Rajkrishnan hall at MIDC Baramati,while Purandar is at ITI Saswad,Bhor’s is at Rajwada,Bhor while Maval constituency counting is at the Mahsul Bhavan.
