Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has promised that contractors who have allegedly failed to carry out work under the Infra-1 project of the MSEDCL will be blacklisted.
He gave the assurance while replying to a question raised by MLA Mohan Joshi at the state Legislative Councils special meeting.
In a statement issued on Monday,Joshi said DP boxes were lying uncovered that could pose a risk. Cables were lying on various roads as part of Infra-1 project of the MSEDCL and several works were unfinished,Joshi claimed.
He also complained that the feeder and DP boxes made of iron lying open, specially near schools, could lead to accidents.
While Pawar assured that such contractors would be blacklisted,Energy Minister Rajendra Mulak said MSEDCLs project on infrastructure development worth Rs 250 crore would be completed by June. The minister also said LED bulbs would be provided as one of the measures to conserve energy.
