If this has to be imbibed at an early age,a school is the best place where it can be instilled as well as practiced. And working on similar lines is the Kendriya Vidyalaya School AVA 02 AFS in Lohegaon,which is encouraging education as a process and since decades. The school is administered by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan a organization administering 981 schools Vidyalayas all across the country. Since inception in 1965,the Kendriya Vidyalayas have come to be known as centres prime in the field of secondary and senior secondary education.
The overall development of a student is our only focus at the school. Once they pass out from here they are ready to take any challenge,which comes in their life, says Sanjay Karvekar,the social studies teacher at the school.
Taking up several green initiatives,the school also has a Nature Club and Green club wherein the students are told about the importance of protecting and preserving nature,planting trees and special seminars are organized for the same. The school also organizes cultural activities for children every Saturday along with sessions of dance,singing,skating,handicraft,debate,extempore,to contribute towards the personality development.
Prtiviraj Wadles dream is to become a Judo champion. A student of Class 9,he has bagged the Silver medal last year in Maharashtra school Judo championship. My school is helping me immensely by providing adequate tools in order to achieve my goal,the teachers also help me with all my queries, adds Pritviraj.
Students here are aware of the fact that academics are just a part of grooming into a well nurtured individual. Its the mental and physical growth,which will help them to take on the world as Shubam Kumar of class 11 says,I want to become a pilot and serve my country and I can realise my dream because our teachers motivate us and teach us in the most interesting manner, he adds.
With a strong infrastructure the school houses thousands of books and several computer labs along with screening of educational movies frequently for the overall development of the student. Health check ups are organized twice in a year and yoga classes are arranged once in a week,this brings the students in tune with his inner strength at a very young age. To boost and increase family bonding,grand parents meetings are organized along with the parent meetings after every unit test. The parents too get well versed about what the child is learning in school.
I want to be a marine engineer I am sure with the help of my teachers one day I will be able to achieve my goal. A query is never met with a sulk or ignored but we get answers to the most complex problems very easily as our teachers make it immensely easy and interactive, adds Rui class 11 student.
Sushma Singh of class 9 wants to become a fashion designer. I like the art of design and everyone likes my work that inspires me to become a fashion designer. My teachers encourage every student equally and this is the reason I like my school, she adds.
