The last time a couple of dashing Bollywood heroes couldn’t find a house to rent, they turned into a gay couple: Abhishek and John hung out with pretty Priyanka in a fancy apartment in Miami, and their ‘dostana’ was all very cosy.
The quartet in ‘Paying Guests’-Shreyas,Jaaved,Ashish and Vatsal-don’t have matinee idol looks, nor are their digs destined to be quite so posh,so they have to make do with the humbler, cheaper Pattaya beach, and a determinedly low brow plot. Actually,it’s not really any kind of plot, just a series of scenes being played broadly, very broadly, for laughs.
Jaaved and Shreyas stuff oranges down their vests, paint their lips, and become the ‘wives’ (the other two are the ‘husbands’),because that’s the only way landlord Jhonny Lever will let out rooms. Each of the guys has a girl, naturally, and some of those girls have pesky dads, and bad attitudes.

Almost every superhero has spawned multiple sequels. And the story of Wolverines past is begging to be told, given that this mysterious and most-popular of the mutants doesnt remember any of it. So,screenwriters David Benioff and Skip Woods had a big leewaythey could have gone anywhere and everywhere. But nowhere do we get an idea how Wolverine becomes what he does. When the film starts,Wolverine is a rather sickly child called Jimmy Logan, fighting another bout of cold. His friend Victor is keeping him company. Within minutes though,Victors Dad has killed Jimmys. As Jimmy strikes out at him in anger,he finds long,wolf-like nails growing out of his knuckles. In his dying moments,Victors Dad says it is he who is Jimmys real father, and Victor runs away with the boy, telling him they have to look out for each other. We watch Victor (Liev Schreiber) grow more and more violent and out of control, and Jimmy (Hugh Jackman) more and more skeptical.Rather than focusing on the two brothers who are similar but narrowly apart, too much time is expended on Major William Stryker (Danny Huston),who has none of the menace of the villains of the previous X-Men,including the Stryker played by Brian Cox. Schreiber,on the contrary,is terribly good, evoking a whiff of unpredictability in his every screen moment. With Jackman his proficient self (just doing that much for his fourth Wolverine appearance),this could have been an altogether different film if it revolved around the two of them. It doesnt help that rather than natural power or innate goodness, what eventually puts Wolverine along the path of uniqueness is a scientific experiment. (A hero with an unfair advantage
what were they thinking?)
The filmmakers also have a puzzled Wolverine chasing a mystery involving mutant experiments,an impressive-sounding meteorite component,a Weapon XI,the first hint of the X-factor (giving the X-men their name),an island, and a frozen child somehow connected to all of this.In the midst of all this,Logan finds time for a brief romance in an isolated cottage atop a hill, staring at the moon,an episode from which he gets the name Wolverine. And we thought it had something to with his facial hair.
