DES-Fergusson Tennis: 3rd qualifying round begins

The Fergusson College courts played host to some excellent tennis yesterday,as the DES-Fergusson Cup,a men’s All India ranking tennis tournament,entered its third qualifying round. Prashant Sawant blanked his opponent Harshad Phadnis 7-0,while Nishant Prasad and Mortaza Lohani beat Amey Karande and Chinmay Deshpande by the same scoreline.

Manoj Kusalkar prevailed over Ganesh Devkir 7-2,while Gopal Jadhav beat Setu Madhav Pande 7-3. The closest match of the day was played between Milind Seth and S.P. Prasad,with Seth edging his opponent out 7-5. A total of 100 players are taking part in the qualifying rounds.
