Deepak Fertilisers win management competition

Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation Limited emerged the winner in the western zone finals of National Management Games-2010 organized by the All India Management Association at Mumbai late last month.

Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL) emerged the winner in the western zone finals of National Management Games-2010 organized by the All India Management Association (AIMA) at Mumbai late last month. Hero Honda were declared the runners-up.

Among the 35 teams from the various companies who participated in the west zone competition 12 teams from companies such as DFPCL,Hero Honda,Indian Oil,Tata Steel,ONGC,LIC,RIL,Powergrid and REL qualified for the west zone finals.The teams were required to manage a real business in a simulated environment and take strategic business decisions and go through pains and gains of running a company in a competitive and challenging environment.

The game was spread over five rounds where the teams had to compete to win on a predetermined winning criteria,cumulative profit after tax.

S C Mehta,Vice Chairman & Managing Director said,“DFPCL has always concentrated on people development by integrating learning and development with existing systems such as such as business planning and learning & development; thus increasing employee job performance.” DFPCL will participate in the National Championship in New Delhi on June 18.
