Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited disconnected power supply to the Hindustan Antibiotics (HA) on Wednesday for non-payment of Rs 3.10 crore dues. Confirming the development,an MSEDCL official said the supply of electricity to the antibiotic company was cut off at around 5 pm as it had failed to pay bills for the past one year. Unable to pay the bills, the company had approached deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, who also handles power portfolio requesting him to intervene. Pawar had reportedly asked the company to pay at least the bill for last month. However, the company failed to pay the same. “The power supply to the company and the adjacent HA colony has been disconnected. However, this will not affect production as the company has alternative power arrangement. Tomorrow we will again meet Ajit Pawar and request him to restore the power supply,” said Arun Borade, general secretary of HAL workers union.
