Cummins opens facility in Phaltan

Close on the heels of the inauguration of three facilities at its megasite earlier this year,Cummins opened its fourth facility,a parts distribution centre (PDC),recently at Phaltan.

In January,Cummins had launched three facilities – the second manufacturing facility of Tata Cummins,an engine rebuild centre and a reconditioning facility for remanufacturing engines and components. PDC has been established with an objective to enhance supply chain efficiency in aftermarket parts distribution. The centre will serve as a logistics hub. With this,the total investment by Cummins Group at the Megasite has reached approximately US $100 million.

Cummins will also begin construction of its fifth facility,an industrial engine upfit centre for upfitting diesel and natural gas mechanical and electronic B and L series engines. This facility will also manufacture C series engines.
