HDFC Bank notched up a thrilling victory over SoftHard Automation in the Maharashtra Krida Corporate T20 Champions Cup here on Monday.
SoftHard batted first and put up a decent total of 156/7 in 20 overs. Sangram Thete was the top scorer,with 67 runs.
HDFC started well,with Sachin Deo providing the early boost with 45 runs. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals but managed to keep themselves in the hunt.
Avinash Jadhav produced a match-winning performance,scoring an unbeaten 57 to give HDFC the victory with just one ball to spare,as they finished with 160/9.
In another match,Yes Bank secured a convincing victory over TCS,thrashing them by 115 runs. Batting first,Yes Bank posted a commanding score of 176/7 in 20 overs thanks to good performances from all their batsmen.
Sandip Jagtap top-scored with 36,while Hrushikesh Gangawane and Amit Tapkir chipped in with 34 and 32 respectively.
Yes Bank then bundled TCS out for a paltry 61,thanks to a brilliant bowling performance by Prashant Telange. Telange took four wickets for the loss of only five runs,and was ably supported by Tapkir,who supported his earlier batting performance with bowling figures of 2/7 to earn the Man-of-the-Match award.
Yes Bank could not replicate this feat,however,as they lost their second match against Persistent Systems. Avinash Raut and Pankaj Deshpande took three wickets and two wickets respectively for Persistent to help bowl Yes bank out for 103. Man-of-the-Match Riteish Agarwal then produced a 43-run knock to help his team to 104/3 for a seven-wicket victory.
MindCrest could not post as big a score as Yes Bank in their match against Tikona Digital Networks,finishing with 85/7 in 18 overs. Rakesh Walmiki was their best batsman with 23 runs.
Tikona overhauled the target easily thanks to a powerful innings from Brian Nanwar. Nanwar smashed an unbeaten 67 to give his team the victory,and himself,the Man-of-the-Match award.
Bajaj Allianz backed up their meager total with a disciplined bowling performance to beat Sungard by 33 runs.
In the first innings,Amit Nanawares four wickets along with Dhananjay Borates three restricted Bajaj Allianz to 125 all out in 19.4 overs. Farid Valami top scored for Bajaj with 37.
Bajaj Allianz bowler Mohammed Saleem,who was adjudged the man-of-the-match,led the bowling attack with 3/14 along with Rahul Siddharth (3/21) to bowl Sungard out for 92 and win the match.
In the final match of the day,Tata Technologies posted a commendable total of 153/5 against Patni Computers thanks to Amar Shilamkars half-century. Shilamkar scored 51 and was supported by Yogesh Dhaibar and Anwar Shaikh,who scored 42 and 37 respectively.
In response,Tata Technologies bowler Abhijeet Pawar performed brilliantly,taking four wickets to help bowl Patni out for 87,securing a 66-run victory.
