In the bard’s words,“He is half of a blessed man. Left to be finished by such as she; and she a fair divided excellence,whose fullness of perfection lies in him.” This is beautifully exemplified in the paintings by artist Arvind Chaudhary,that are currently on display at Darpan Art Gallery. Chaudhary depicts prakriti and purush as completing each other. “My brush paints nature’s emotions of love,attraction,devotion and passion as Radha,Mohini,Meera and Ganga and it is through her eyes that I see Purush in the form of Krishna,Surya,Shiv and the like. In every painting,one can see the blend of time and spirituality,” he says. His paintings include ornamental drawings,realistic and abstract paintings,all glorifying the chosen theme of prakriti aur purush. Among those who attended the exhibition were Ganpathi Mazaonkar,former principal of Sangli College of Art,Chandrakant Joshi,artist and film director,artist Murlidhar Lahoti,Bhaskar Chaudhary,former GM,NABARD,and industrialists Suhas and Savita Palekar.
