Code violation: Complaints galore against candidates

A total of 14 offences have been registered under the violation of the model code of conduct at various police stations in the city.

A total of 14 offences have been registered under the violation of the model code of conduct at various police stations in the city. Addressing a press meet,Dnyaneshwar Killari,head,election branch,said that all the complaints had been registered and action would be taken.

From holding padyatras to using vehicles without permission,various candidates contesting for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls have been caught violating the model code of conduct. A complaint has been filed against BJP candidate Anil Shirole and around 25 of his supporters for holding a padyatra in the city without prior permission. The complaint has been registered at the Vishrantwadi police station. Also,a complaint has been registered against Pune MNS candidate Ranjit Shirole for not taking prior permission for use of vehicles. A complaint has been registered against Shiv Sena candidate Gajanan Babar for use of five jeeps and eight motor cycles from Pimpri village to Pune without permission. Yet another complaint has been filed against him for use of 10 four-wheeler vehicles and 25 motorcycles for a rally conducted from old Sanghvi to Pimple Saudagar. Complaints have also been filed against Azam Pansare for use of 30 vehicles against the sanctioned three vehicles for his campaign. A similar complaint has been filed against Shivaji Adhalrao Patil for use of nearly 70-80 vehicles without permission.
