PUNE: Three persons,including a five-year-old boy were killed in three accidents between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. On Tuesday,Meheboob Shaikh,5,was hit by a bike driven by an unidentified woman in Kalewadi. The boy was playing when the incident took place. Police said witnesses identified the registration number as MH14-AX-5127. Meheboob’s father,Sikandar Shaikh,registered a case with Sangvi police. 25-year-old Sachin Dnyaneshwar Wagh of Shirur, died after his bike hit a tempo. In the third accident,Uttambharati Goswami,40,of Dattanagar was run over by a speeding container.

Dacoits murder woman,injure daughter-in-law

A 75-year-old woman was murdered and her daughter-in-law seriously injured by six armed dacoits on Wednesday at Garphata village in Daund. The deceased woman Dagdabai Ganpat Lonkar (75) and her daughter-in-law Najuka Devidas Bhagwat (23) and her son were home when the dacoits entered the house assaulted the women and robbed their gold ornaments.
