Pune’s swish set headed to Turque,the poolside lounge at Sayaji Hotel,for a Single Malt evening held recently in association with Diageo. There was a perfect mix of music,drinks and delicious food. To add to the mood of the evening,there were live dance performances by Irisha Poonawalla and Awadhesh and a solo acoustic performance by Lavanya. We spotted Amol Palekar and wife Sandhya Gokhale,Soumen Choudhury,Dharini Turakhia and Rajdev Bhattacharya among others.

Tyson Pigeonholed

The world knows Mike Tyson as the former heavyweight champion. In June 2011,we will see a whole new side to him,in the new Animal Planet series,Taking On Tyson,in which he shares his love for birds. Tyson has always loved breeding and raising pigeons,and the birds have always been an integral part of his life since childhood. The first thing I ever loved was a pigeon, he says. Taking On Tyson follows Tyson as he not only raises his feathered friends but races them for the first time. The series not only opens a window into the childhood life of the boxing champion,but this documentary also introduces audiences to the highly competitive and fascinating sport of pigeon racing. The series premieres on Animal Planet on June 6 and will air at 9pm till June 19.
