The Natu family owned about 40,000 sq ft land near Natu Baug on Bajirao Road
Additional sessions judge U S Thakare framed charges against corporator Deepak Mankar and 19 others on Saturday in the alleged land grab case of Yashwant Natu from Shukrawar Peth. The trail will begin from next month.
Mankar,former corporator Datta Sagare,builder Sudhir Karnataki,Sadhana Vartak,Sheru Kamble and other have been charged of conspiracy,illegal crowding,rioting,burglary,damage of property,extortion,and issuing death threats among others. The trial will begin from September 15.
The Natu family owned about 40,000 sq feet land near Natu baug on Bajirao Road. Yashwant Natu had a share of 800 sq feet. His cousins had sold their respective share to builder Karnataki. Mankar and Karnataki also wanted Natu’s share of land. The duo had contacted Natu with the help of the other accused.
As Natu had refused to part with his share,they pelted stones on Natu’s house in Sahakar Nagar in February last year and threw his belongings outside the house. Natu had mentioned in his complaint that Mankar and Karnataki had prepared the land sale agreement and other documents and handed them a demand draft of Rs 1.25 crore after taking possession of the property.
Natu signed the documents as he was under pressure for more than a month.
