The Maharashtra Technical Common Entrance Test (MT-CET-2013) went off smoothly in Pune city and the district on Thursday with candidates at large finding the exam comparatively easy this time.
Pramod Shendge,MT-CET liasoning officer for Pune district,said no complaint was received from any of the 74 designated centres for the examination.
More than 2.85 lakh candidates across the state,including over 33,000 from Pune district,appeared for the exam to secure admission to under-graduate courses in engineering and pharmacy.
The mathematics paper was very easy. The physics and chemistry papers were also easy but lengthy. There were some information-based questions in the chemistry paper. Not a single question was set from outside the syllabus. Many of our students perceived the exam to be of moderate difficulty level, said Durgesh Mangeshkar of IITians Pratishthan coaching institute.
Rohit Mujumdar,a Class XII student from P Jog Junior College Mayur Colony in Kothrud,said he found the exam easy and had no problem in time-management while writing the paper.
The results for the MT-CET will be announced on June 5,following which the admission process for engineering and pharmacy courses will begin.
