BVU’s 14th foundation day gift: two new post-graduation courses

Bharati Vidyapeeth University (BVU) on the occasion of its 14th foundation day is starting a post-graduate course in geo-informatics at its newly formed Centre for Health Administration and Research from the coming academic year. A first of its kind in the country,the course will cover the effects of geographical conditions on various elements including health.

Vice chancellor of BVU Shivajirao Kadam in a press conference on Monday said,”It will be a diploma course that will cover the effects of various geographical conditions like growing heat,rains on health and to find an association between both.” “As the centre comes under the interdisciplinary section,it will cover various aspects related to the subject,” he added. The centre will also start a fulltime MSc course in health administration. “Health administration has become an inevitable part of hospitals as they require managers who know law and a bit of health science too. Especially,to prepare a hospital for medical tourism,there is huge demand for such trained managers,” said Kadam.

BVU will be celebrating its 14th foundation day on April 26 and it will felicitate management guru Dr P C Shejwalkar,sociologist Dr Sharachchandra Gokhale,researcher of folk literature Dr R C Dhere,educationalist Dr R G Prabhune,thinker Raosaheb Shinde and educationalist Dr M S Gosavi with lifetime achievement award.

Famous poet Mangesh Padgaonkar and litterateur Anand Yadav will be chief guests for the function. The award consists of Rs 50,000 cash,memento and citation.
