Education New Zealand on Saturday organised a one-day education fair in Pune for the first time. The fair was a one-stop centre for students,parents,teachers,student counsellors and working adults seeking information on tertiary and postgraduate programmes in New Zealand. Various New Zealand institutes from diverse disciplines such as engineering,management,hospitality,multimedia,biotechnology and Information Technology took part. In September 2012,Education New Zealand held a series of fairs in Delhi,Bangalore and Chennai,to encourage India-New Zealand education ties. As part of the event,the finals of Kiwi Mastermind,an inter-college quiz show was also organised. About 150 students took part in the quiz. Grant McPherson,CEO,ENZ,said,“We are making great headway in education,tourism,and sports. Lately,New Zealand witnessed an increased interest and overwhelming response from Indian students.” Jugnu Roy,Education Marketing Manager,India and Sri Lanka,said,“We have been getting a lot of response from Pune students lately and that is why we decided to organise a fair here. A large chunk of students is interested in hospitality,engineering and Management post graduate courses.”

Russian state universities to hold seminar,free counselling session

Delegates from the international students department of Russian State Universities in association with Edurussia,the authorised admission department of the Russian state and government universities in India,will organise a free seminar and counseling session. The seminar will be conducted at Hotel Le Meridien on April 15,10 am onwards. The seminar will be held for the benefit of students looking for admissions to MBBS,BDS,MD,MS,MDS,Engineering undergraduate and Masters courses and MBA in International Business in Russian state and government universities. Anastasiia Sazonova and Alena Makarova,the Russian delegates,along with Manoj Patkiof Edurussia India will guide the students during the seminar. Edurussia functions as the admission office of International Students Department of the Russian government universities in India. Registration is open for students who have cleared their HSC exam. Students who have appeared for Class 12 this year and are awaiting their results can also apply.

VIT launches online Common Entrance Test training for students

To boost confidence among students and to make them aware of the benefits of Online Common Entrance Test,Vishwakarma Institutes will organise an event on Sunday. The event will be organised at Ramchandra Sabhagruh,Chinchwad from 10:30 am to 12pm and from 4pm to 5:30 pm at IMA hall. Speakers would be students of VIT,Pune,who cracked CET with excellent score last year. Technocrat Deepak Shikarpur will address the students. Vishwakarma recently launched its online test prep series for Maharashtra CET,to help aspiring candidates to practice final skills anytime and from anywhere they want. Online CET provides free mock tests prepared by experts along with instant insightful reports to monitor individual performance chapter-wise,along with CET queries promptly answered at http://www.vpindia.co.in.

Neem saplings distributed to students of M S Govalkar Guruji School

The Jan Sarvoday Sanstha,Pune,recently distributed neem saplings to students of M S Govalkar Guruji school. On the occasion,students took an oath to adopt environmentally beneficial lifestyle and to plant ‘desi’ saplings. As many as 100 sapplings were distributed by Rajendra Jagtap who was the chief guest. Sanshta president Padmashri Patil and Principal Kalpana D gave the introductory speech.

Blood donation Camp organised by D Y Patil Knowledge City

The D Y Patil Knowledge City organised a blood donation camp recently in association with Inlaks and Budhrani Hospital. Ajeenkya Patil,chairman and managing director,D Y Patil Group inaugurated the camp and also donated blood. Both the faculty and students participated in the event. A total of 200 units of blood was collected during the drive.
