The Pune police have booked a traffic police constable and a driver with Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) on charges of causing disturbance in government work as they allegedly entered into a brawl at the crowded Seven Loves chowk on Shankar Sheth Road on Tuesday morning. The traffic constable V B Rathod and PMPML driver Vasudev Sitaram Dahiphale (36) have lodged cross complaints against each other at the Khadak police station.
According to constable Rathods complaint,he was going towards Swargate around 10.15 am on his motorcycle. The PMPML,coming from the rear side,jumped the signal at Seven Loves chowk and hit his motorcycle. When Rathod questioned bus driver Dahiphale,he allegedly manhandled Rathod.
Dahiphale has said in his complaint that he drove ahead as the signal had turned orange and then stopped the bus on hearing some noise from his left side.
Rathod who was ahead of the bus blamed Dahiphale for the inconvenience. He got inside the drivers cabin and thrashed Dahiphale. Police inspector G V Nikam of Khadak police station is investigating the case.
