Bhandarkar Lele Trophy: DY Patil start strongly against VVCA

VVCA won the toss and elected to field. DY Patil were bundled out for 219 runs in 40 overs. Shyam Nandarge top-scored with 32,including six boundaries.

Soloman Chopade chipped in with 28 runs that included two hits to the fence. Hera Choudhary was the pick of the VVCA bowlers,scalping five wickets for 71 runs. Vishal Gite and Tariq Ansari made vital contributions,picking up two wickets each. In reply,VVCA were bowled out for just 91 runs giving the opposition team a lead of 155 runs. Tushar Srivastav offered the lone resistance and top-scored with 35 runs which included seven fours. Sandeep Pawar led the DY Patil attack and picked up five wickets for 32 runs. Tanmay Deo and Soloman Chopade offered good support with two wickets each. In their second innings,DY Patil scored 27 runs for the loss of two wickets before the close of play.
