District collector Chandrakant Dalvi has been nominated for this years Mahatma Gandhi Peace award instituted by the Maharashtra State Minority Commission for Peace and Communal Harmony. The award will be presented by Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Chief Minister Ashok Chavan in Mumbai on August 7. Reacting to the honour,Dalvi said he was overwhelmed with the gesture and thanked the commission. Dalvi took over as Pune district collector in June last year. He has held many positions and has been instrumental in getting the Tantamukta Abhiyan or solving the village disputes in the village itself campaign as a government resolution.
