Considering the huge demand from students,the education department (Pune division) has extended the deadline for the sale and acceptance of application forms for Class XI admissions for students availing themselves of the allowed to keep term scheme by two more days. Now,forms will be sold and accepted on Tuesday and Wednesday too from 11 am to 1 pm.
According to D N Sheth,principal of S P College and chairman of the centralised admission committee for Class XI admissions,though the CAC carried out the procedure for sale and acceptance of application forms on October 2 and 3,there were many requests from students to extend the date. We have made forms available for sale on October 6 and 7. We will also accept duly filled forms on these two days, he said.
Meanwhile,the education department will simultaneously display the final merit list for students who have applied for admission on October 2 and 3,at 9 am on Tuesday. As many as 1,623 students who have failed in one or two subjects in SSC exams have applied. The admissions will be done as per the table admission process in S P College, says a press note issued by the department.
The final merit list will be made available in S P,Abasaheb Garware,Fergusson,Ness Wadia and Mhalsakant colleges on October 6 at 9 am. The actual allotment of seats will start from 1 pm at S P College as per the merit list.
The education department has said students should remain present for admission at least one hour before the allotted time with receipts of application forms and all original documents. It has also clarified the students would be given admissions as per merit and seats available in city junior colleges. Students are required to take admission in two days and once confirmed,it cannot be cancelled, says the press note.
The department has also made special arrangements keeping in mind the swine flu scare in the city. According to the note,one student can be accompanied by only person into the classroom where admissions are allotted.
