ACB seeks court nod for narco analysis of 8 accused

The Central Bureau of Investigations’ Anti-Corruption Bureau has sought the court’s permission to conduct narco analysis,polygraph tests and brain mapping on all the eight arrested in the National Defence Academy recruitment scam.

The Central Bureau of Investigations’ Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBI-ACB) has sought the court’s permission to conduct narco analysis,polygraph tests and brain mapping on all the eight arrested in the National Defence Academy (NDA) recruitment scam.

The CBI has sought the permission to conduct the test on Colonel Anil Kumar Singh,presiding officer of examinations at NDA,Colonel Kulbir Singh,staff officer to the commandant at NDA,NDA establishment officer Suhas Waghmare along with Balkrishna Kanojia,who runs a food stall in Pune,Kanojia’s employee Vishnu Prasad Sharma,NDA employees Ramesh Gaikwad,Manoj and Dattatraya Shitkal.

“During interrogation,the accused talk about having transferred the bribe amount from one person to the other. The Narco analysis and other tests will help in knowing the truth,” said CBI special prosecutor Vivek Saxena.

CBI special judge D R Mahajan is likely to hear the application along with the bail applications of the accused on July 30.

Meanwhile,the court rejected Shitkal borthers’ plea to extend their interim bail to attend their father’s funeral. The CBI had opposed their plea since they had also filed a bail plea in the Bombay High Court,which had directed them to move the Pune court. All the accused are currently lodged in Yerawada prison.
