To celebrate the New Year in a unique way, some city youngsters got together to wash more than 38 Pune Municipal Transport buses on January 1. ‘Kruti-Ek Karya’,a social group of people from various parts of the city, took this initiative. Students,IT professionals, and engineers gathered at the Katraj Bus Depot,at 8 am on Sunday morning and continued with their task till 4.30 pm.

The group was first given basic information about the buses by the staff. “The team was split into groups of five each to clean the buses. Right from the driver’s cabin, seats, windows, and passage, they cleaned everything,” said Vikas Jadhav, maintenance engineer,Katraj Bus Depot. This group have also created a community on Facebook – ‘Kruti-Ek Karya’ – for those willing to participate in such activities.
