8 held for Shivajinagar murder

Shivajinagar police have arrested eight persons including five history sheeters in case of alleged murder Mohan alias Mauli Shinde,a history-sheeter and a member of Baba Bodke gang in Shivajinagar gavthan on Wednesday night.

Shivajinagar police have arrested eight persons including five history sheeters in case of alleged murder Mohan alias Mauli Shinde,a history-sheeter and a member of Baba Bodke gang in Shivajinagar gavthan on Wednesday night. Police said they are planning to invoke Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in this case.

Shinde (24),a resident of Joshi Alee in Shivajinagar gaothan,was murdered following some internal gang dispute.

The police have identified the accused as Sheru Shreenath Vilas Pardeshi (26),Amol Gajanan Bodhade (22),Amol Sambhaji Pardeshi (22),Ranjit Vilas Pardeshi (32),Amol Jagannath More (32),Sambhaji Dashrath Pardeshi (53),Ganesh Sambhaji Pardeshi (23) and Laukik Sambhaji Pardeshi (26) all are residents of Shivajinagar.

Prabhat Kumar,additional commissioner of police (South Zone)said while addressing a press conference,“Some of the arrested persons have a number of crimes registered against them at various police station in the city. All of them have been remanded to police custody till March 4 and we working on details to MCOCA against the accused in this case.”

Mauli was externed from Pune for two years and had come back few months ago. He was residing in Kalewadi after the externment. “Both,deceased and the first accused Shreenath were together involved in an attempt to murder case and the alleged murder of Sudhir Rasal in Sahakarnagar in 2006.”

“A complaint registered by Ganesh Shinde said,“Shreenath had allegedly threatened family members of Mauli’s friend Gaurav Shinde (Ganesh’ cousin) with sharp weapons and asked them to stay away from Mauli. After this incident Mauli had gone to Shreenath and had threatened him,” said Kumar.

He added,“We are yet to get the final post mortem report but the primary report has revealed that four rounds were fired from a 7.65 mm pistol. This is subject to confirmation.”
