2 killed in E-way mishap

A damaged car that was being towed away dashed against the wall,turned turtle and then caught fire,killing two persons,near Adoshi tunnel on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway late on Tuesday.

Khopoli police said the deceased Sharad Joshi (38) and Madhavrao Kapadi (35),both residents of Titwala in Thane,were charred to death.

Police said the deceased were travelling in a car from Pune to Thane. Their car had stopped near Lonavala following a technical glitch. They called their relatives for help. Police said the relatives arranged another car for towing the damaged car with the help of a nylon rope. But the rope broke while towing and they could not control the car,which hit the compound wall,turned turtle and caught fire,police said.
