2 IRB labourers die in E’way accident

Lonavala police have identified the deceased as Sachin Sayaji Patil (32),of Dhule and Salim Hasanali Shaikh (25) of Uttar Pradesh.

Two labourers working on contract for Ideal Road Builders (IRB),which has been awarded the contract for maintenance of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway,died and five others were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a stationary container on the Expressway around 5 am on Friday.

Lonavala police have identified the deceased as Sachin Sayaji Patil (32),of Dhule and Salim Hasanali Shaikh (25) of Uttar Pradesh.

The injured have been identified as Rakesh Patil who was driving the vehicle on which a tar mixer was mounted,Raju Pawar,Ashok Chaudhary,Suresh Thapa and Vinay Saroj.

PSI SA Bhosale of Lonavala town police station said,“The container had broken down and was standing on the roadside. The carrier moving towards Pune,and on which the tar mixer was mounted,rammed into it. The two died on the spot. The condition of other five is stable.”
