Two IndiGo flights arriving in Pune — one from Hyderabad and another from Jodhpur — received false bomb threats on October 28. Both flights landed safely in isolation bays, officials confirmed.
On Monday, IndiGo flight 6E 414, departing from Jodhpur at 2.30 pm, was scheduled to land at Pune Airport but was forced to make an emergency landing at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
According to a Jodhpur airport official, the flight took off on time, but as soon as the airport authority received information about a bomb threat posted on X (formerly Twitter), the flight, which had already passed Ahmedabad, was diverted for an emergency landing.
The official confirmed that passengers were safely evacuated, and the aircraft was inspected in an isolated area following standard operating procedures, including checks by CISF personnel with dog squads and police administration.
An IndiGo spokesperson also confirmed that another flight, 6E 311, operating from Hyderabad to Pune, departed at around 2 pm, landed safely on a remote part of the Pune’s runway at 3.20 pm, where it underwent a thorough security check.
IndiGo further informed that along with 18 other flights, the two Pune-bound flights had received security alerts on October 29.
“In line with our strict safety protocols, all necessary precautions are being taken, and we are working closely with the relevant authorities. The safety and security of our customers and crew remain our highest priority. We regret any inconvenience caused to our customers and appreciate their understanding during this time,” the spokesperson said.
