The man and his wife had been running the company New Path Career Solutions Pvt Ltd through which they cheated the complainant, said the police.A 17-YEAR-OLD youth working as a labourer was allegedly bludgeoned to death with metal rods and rocks by a 60-year-old man and his two sons. Police said the 60-year-old man’s daughter was in contact with the victim and the accused disapproved of it.
Police identified the deceased as Ganesh Waghu Dande, aged 17 years 10 months, a resident of Gore Vasti in Wagheshwar Nagar area of Wagholi. The incident took place around 12.30 am on Thursday in the same area. Police have arrested Laxman Maruti Petkar (60) and his two sons Nitin (31) and Sudhir (32). An FIR was registered based on the complaint by Ganesh’s father Waghu Maruti Dande (64), who is also a labourer.
“Around 12.30 am on Thursday when Ganesh was returning home on his bike with some of his friends, the three accused stopped him and started brutally beating him with metal rods and rocks. Ganesh sustained severe injuries and is believed to have died on the spot. The incident took place not far from the location where houses of Dande and Petkar are located around 50 metres from each other. Some locals informed Ganesh’s father who in turn called the police,” said an officer from Wagholi police station.
“Initial probe suggests that Ganesh had been in contact with the daughter of Laxman Petkar which Petkar and his two sons disapproved of. Probe suggests that the brutal murder was a fallout of this. Soon after the murder, we arrested Laxman and his two sons,” said Assistant Inspector Vinayak Ahire of Wagholi police station.
