Winning Stories

As a child,Vijay Prabhat Kamalakara loved listening to fairy tales. Luckily for him,he never grew up — Kamalakara,30,has turned his childhood obsession into a profitable and award-winning venture. On Thursday,his four-year-old website,www.storytrails.in,won the 2011 Youth Creative Awards for Performing Arts,initiated by the British Council. Among the other winners were Aneeth Arora for fashion,Abhijit Bansod for design,Ganesh Ram and eMahatva Technologie for Publishing and Titash Neogi in the Interactive category for using the online space to create a knowledge hub. The winners will now travel to the UK to interact with industry leaders from their respective fields.

“When I grew up,I wanted to tell stories about unusual places,” says Kamalakara,who is based in Chennai and operates theme-based storytelling workshops for children,adults and corporates in the city.
