The prosecution on Friday examined two paanch witnesses in the 26/11 case in an effort to prove that terrorists Ajmal Kasab and Abu Ismail Khan had used hand grenades and ammunition to gun down over 50 people at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST).
Rajesh Kacheria said he saw bomb squad officials recover a parcel bomb left by the terrorists and take it to their office,where it was defused. The officials brought two detonator wires in contact with white powder (RDX) and there was a blast,he said.
The other witness,Indrajit Chandrashekhar Singh,reported the recovery of 13 cartridges,two magazines,eight empty magazines,and the safety pin of a hand grenade from CST in his presence.
The prosecution has so far examined 73 witnesses.
Kasabs lawyer Abbas Kazmi asked Singh if he understands Marathi. He replied no; he knows Hindi and understands English. The judge asked him,You can understand a foreign language but cant understand the language of the place where you live?
