Minister for Higher and Technical Education Rajesh Tope has sought a detailed report regarding the incidents due to which seven senate members were suspended and assured that he would inform the Governor once he gets the report. The Council was adjourned twice over this issue.
The senate members are elected representatives,how can they be suspended because they were pressing for their demand? said Sena MLC Diwakar Raote. Tope said the budget meet was conducted properly for two-and-a-half hours after which there was a protest following the suspension order. He has sought a report on the incident. Tope said that re-examination for 98 students who could not appear for the English paper would be conducted on April 10. He said a 10-member committee has been formed to investigate into reports of paper leaks.
Tope that there was prima facie negligence in issuance of hall tickets for which one CCF has been suspended. Replying to questions regarding Welukar,Tope said the matter regarding validity of his PhD is subjudice. He added that he would inform the Governor after he gets a detailed report.
