The actor opens up about going back to past lives and about his future Bollywood projects
Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka marks your second TV project, after Bigg Boss. Why did you choose to make a TV comeback with this project?
There are many reasons for that. Firstly, its very different from all the other shows one sees on TV these days. Viewers will instantly fall in love with Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka. Secondly, its an effort to improve peoples lives. As you know,on this show, people are put into a trance by a therapist, who then questions them about their past. This helps people come to terms with issues and memories theyve suppressed and move on to better lives. Also, one of my strongest motivating factors for being part of this show is that I do believe in past-life regression and its beneficial effects.
What exactly is your role on the show?
Im the narrator, the person who holds the show together. My role is two-foldI talk to the participants and make them comfortable. Im the first person they see when they come out of their trance and that puts them at ease. My second job is to be the link between the show and the audience. I explain whats happening to the viewers.
Would you agree to undergo this therapy?
Definitely. In fact,I did volunteer for one episode, which has already been shot. But I cant reveal much information youll have to wait to catch it when it goes on air at the end of this month.
Are you still in touch with your fellow inmates from Bigg Boss?
No,Im not. Bigg Bosss house was a weird place. We were all closeted with each other for over two months and yet we havent managed to form any lasting relations with each other. I suppose its the effect of constantly being forced into each others company, but ever since we parted ways,I havent seen or heard from most of them. The only people I still meet sometimes are Rakhi Sawant and Rupali Ganguly.
Youve been quite busy with Bollywood projects. We recently saw you in Luck.
Im enjoying myself in Bollywood and next, youll see me in quite a few movies, including an incredibly beautiful and wonderful movie called Raavan. I play Abhishek Bachchans characters older brother in the movie. It was simply fantastic working on the project with such wonderful actors and a dream come true to finally be able to work with Mani Ratnam. That man is one of the few geniuses we have.
