St Francis D’Assisi continued to dominate the field in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) boys’ under-16 Division I league this season with a closely fought 3-2 win over St Joseph from Wadala at the Castrol-MSSA centre in Azad Maidan on Wednesday. Danny John was as always on target, with Lashron Rodrigues and Arbaz Shaikh scoring the other two goals for St Francis. But Ashish Solanki and Joywin D’Souza kept their in-form opponents in check by netting a goal each. In the end, their efforts would end in vain.
Don Bosco from Matunga, meanwhile, sneaked a 1-0 win over Bombay Scottish with Keanu D’Souza finding the back of the net. Campion School, however, proved too much of a challenge for Chembur’s OLPS as they thrashed them 3-0. Shlok Jain,Anuraj Ojha and Aryan Sood got the goals for Campion in their facile win. Drishya Khanna’s brace was enough to take Jamnabai Narsee to a 2-0 win over St Mary’s SSC from Mazagaon.
