Man kills brother,arrested

The Juhu police on Monday arrested Nagraj Shetty (21),a casual labourer,staying with his family at Nehru Nagar chawl in Juhu for allegedly killing his younger brother. According to police,Sunil (19),Nagraj’s younger brother,was unemployed and they used to have frequent quarrels with each other. “On Sunday night,the duo got into a fight after Nagraj’s wife left for her parent’s house in Bandra claiming that she is frustrated with the daily quarrels. Nagraj blamed Sunil for it. This led to an argument between them and eventually they got into a scuffle. In the midst of the fight,Nagraj picked up an empty beer bottle and stabbed Sunil after breaking it. Sunil was severely injured,” said Senior Police Inspector Deepak Katkade of the Juhu police station. Sunil was rushed to Cooper Hospital,but succumbed to his injuries. “Nagraj has been arrested after the hospital authorities informed us about the incident. We have also sent Nagraj’s blood samples for tests to know whether he had consumed alcohol,” Katkade said. Nagraj has been remanded to police custody till October 5.
