“Gaud had booked the builder under the Preservation Of Trees Act and was about to arrest him. But he then told the builder’s father that he would spare his son if he was paid Rs 1.75 lakh,” said Vasant Devarkar, Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB.

“After the initial bribe demand, Gaud did not call the complainant again. We then registered a complaint. He has not been arrested yet,” Devarkar added. Mahesh Patil, DCP, Zone V said action would be taken once a report was received from the ACB.
