MNS men gherao MPSC chief
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists on Tuesday gheraoed Madhukar Kokate, chief of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC),demanding that the MPSC exam, which is scheduled three days after the UPSC prelims,be postponed. Students claim back-to-back exams will put a lot of stress on them, and that they require more time to prepare for MPSC. The MPSC main exams begin from June 3 and end on June 22 and the UPSC preliminary exam is scheduled on June 12. Gajanan Kale,vice-president of MNS students wing, said,There is a gap of three days between one of the MPSC exams and the UPSC prelims. It is likely that most of the students who have enrolled for both the exams would skip the UPSC prelims. We had gheraoed the chief of MPSC and have given a letter requesting him to postpone the MPSC exams. Otherwise they will have to face the wrath of MNS activists. When contacted,Kokate said,The exams are not clashing. We will discuss this matter with our members and if students are inconvenienced,we will see what we can do to help them.
