Bandra residents to create awareness on road discipline

In order to reduce traffic jams in Bandra West,the residents are planning to launch a project called ‘You Turn’ to educate and create awareness about road discipline among locals.They plan to launch the project on November 12 during the upcoming Celebrate Bandra festival. The committee organising the festival met with the traffic police and Bandra police in order to work out a plan. According to the plan,presentations will be made to colleges,advanced locality managements and other institutions,on how maintaining discipline and civic sense on the roads can make a difference.

50-year-old man found dead in shop

A 50-year-old man was found dead in his ground-floor shop in Haji Kasam building at Bori Mohalla on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Jamil. “Jamil was in his shop on Thursday afternoon when neighbours heard a loud scream. They rushed to the shop and saw a man trying to escape. They locked the door of the shop and called the police,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Dongri Division) Ravi Thakur. “When we opened the door,Jamil was lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds. The person,who was trying to escape,was also injured. We are trying to find out his identity,” said Thakur. The man was rushed to a hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
