Improvement tips for station managers at WR workshop

At a workshop held by the Western Railway on Thursday attended by 51 station managers and station masters of the suburban section as well as major WR stations,they were given tips on improving customer interface and the image of the railways.

At a workshop held by the Western Railway (WR) on Thursday attended by 51 station managers and station masters of the suburban section as well as major WR stations,they were given tips on improving customer interface and the image of the railways.

The workshop ‘Customers Interface & Railway’s Image’ held at the WR headquarters office also featured two short films including one on Right to Information Information (RTI).

Addressing the workshop,Chief Commercial Manager,WR,R.K. Tandon said station managers come directly in contact with rail users as well as the general public at times and play a very important role in interaction with the public and building the image of the organization.

He stressed the need to look after passenger amenities and ensure cleanliness at stations. Tandon also gave them tips on dealing and interacting with external customers,the passengers,and internal customers like various railway departments. Girish Pillai,Chief Operations Manager,also addressed the workshop.

The main objective of the workshop was to sensitize station managers on public dealing,passenger amenities,cleanliness and other arrangements as they play an important role in fostering the image of railways.
