Mumbai Suburban Rail Network: With these, the total number of AC local train services on Western Railway will now be 121.

The extended block has been undertaken to facilitate multiple stages of civil, track and signalling works connected to the sixth line project between Kandivali and Borivali.

The large-scale cancellations form part of a longer 30-day block period on Mumbai’s Western Railway network that began on December 20–21, 2025, and will continue till January 18, 2026.

WR officials said that frequent and surprise checks will continue, especially on high-revenue suburban routes and AC services.

According to WR officials, the project involves track slewing, as well as the insertion and removal of multiple crossovers in the Borivali–Kandivali section.
