Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Amid speculations of the US imposing 500% tariffs on India, BJP Thursday cited recent statistics to underscore that India continues to grow under PM Narendra Modi despite “major changes happening at the global level”.
At a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Gopal Krishna Agarwal said India’s economy is projected to grow at a robust 7.4% in FY 2025-26 and that the quarterly trend shows “consistent strength” with India performing well across all major sectors.
Crediting PM Modi for this, Agarwal said the advance estimates posited that GDP growth was projected to remain at 7.54%, with strong contributions from manufacturing, agri, construction, and services sectors.
“FDI, GST collections, and exports are at record levels, while inflation and fiscal deficit remain under control. With the Modi government’s continuous reforms, infra investment, and focused attention on MSMEs, defence, space, and the semiconductor sector, India is rapidly progressing towards becoming one of the world’s leading economies,” he said.
“The recently released GDP advance estimates clearly demonstrate how India’s economy is moving forward with strength under the leadership of PM Modi,” he said.
