On July 7,1896,a set of films shot by the Lumière Brothers,Louis and Auguste, was screened at Mumbais Watsons Hotel. This was Indias first ever film screening. More than a century later, history will be revisited on Saturday evening with a screening of the Lumière Brothers first six films at JW Marriot,Juhu,at an event organised as part of Jagran Film Festivals fourth edition and final leg this year. Max Lefrancq Lumière,grandson of Auguste Lumière,will be present at the event. It is a privilege to showcase the first set of movies made by the Lumière Brothers at the 4th Jagran Film Festival, says Manoj Srivastava,a consultant strategist with Jagran Film Festival. Organisers are also planning to relive the historic moment by recreating the same atmosphere and aura during the screening. Over 90 films including box office hits such as Barfi!,Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and the critically-acclaimed Ship of Theseus will be screened during the festival, which culminates on September 29 at Andheris Fun Republic.
