Defending champions CCI Snooker Kings experienced another setback when they lost their away tie to Elphinstone Cricket Club Diplomats in their Group J tie,in the third week of the BSAM World Zoroastrian Organisation Trust Mumbai Snooker League.
After winning their home tie 3-0,Snooker Kings,who earlier lost their away tie to Borivalis Mandpeshwar Civic Federation Tough Men in the opening week,went down to Diplomats 1-3 but still managed to top the group with nine points.
In the same group,NSCI Wolverines snatched a crucial bonus point win over formidable Park Club Samurais to take their tally to seven points and remain second,while Samurais are in third place with five points.
In Group A,Dadar Parsee Colony Gymkhana also won crucial home and away ties against Bombay Gymkhana Wizards to keep their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stage alive,and remained second in the group with seven points. Wizards top the group with 12 points.
Shivaji Park Gymkhana Magicians also kept their hopes alive to lead Group I with 12 points after prevailing over Malabar Hill Club Masters in home and away ties. Parsee Gymkhana Pirates are second in the group with nine points.
In Group B,where MIG Feathers beat Catholic Gymkhana Shooters home and away to top the table with 10 points,Matunga Gymkhana Gentlemen won their home tie but lost away to Mumbai Port Trust Patil Sixers to set the stage for an exciting finish with both teams tied at seven points.
In Group D,where Islam Gymkhana Dabbangg beat Dombivli Gymkhana Gulab both home and away,Radio Club Dickras beat Mumbai Port Trust Reynolds Rainbow in home and away ties to catch up with group leaders Wodehouse Gymkhana Woody Woodpeckers, who are on 10 points.
