Corporators seek CID probe into pipeline bursts

City corporators have demanded a CID (Criminal Investigation Department) probe into the recurring incidents of pipeline bursts in the city over the past few days.

Congress MLA,corporator and Opposition leader Rajhans Singh said,“There might be some water mafia or contractor lobby at work here¿ we have demanded a CID investigation in a letter to the CM.” Even leader of the House and Shiv Sena corporator Sunil Prabhu demanded a CID probe,saying there could be some vested interests sabotaging the water distribution system. The management,however,said this (the probe) is not necessary. “The pipe bursts are purely due to technical reasons and negligence by the infrastructure authorities and there is no need for a CID investigation in the same,” said additional municipal commissioner Anil Diggikar.
