An unattended laptop bag set off a bomb scare at the airport on Thursday afternoon. Airport officials later said a passenger had forgotten her bag near terminal 1 B,after which they informed the Central Industrial Security Force.

An unattended laptop bag set off a bomb scare at the airport on Thursday afternoon. Airport officials later said a passenger had forgotten her bag near terminal 1 B,after which they informed the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

Incidentally,a CISF team had just finished a drill when the alert was sounded,an official said.

An unattended baggage was found at the taxi pick-up point of terminal 1 B arrivals around 3 pm. The Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS) arrived at 3.25 pm,checked the baggage and cleared it of any threat at 4.15 pm. Soon after,the passenger to whom the laptop bag belonged came and identified it.

She said she had forgotten it at the terminal, said a Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) spokesperson.
