CHATTERATI

Classic celebrations
The country’s most famous lawyer and former Union Minister for Law,Ram Jethmalani is known for doing things his own way. Which is why when the maverick advocate celebrates his 86th birthday by releasing a book on the Sindhi community,Global Sindhis,it’s just par for the course, especially given that Jethmalani is a partition refugee.

The celebrations, organised by the Sahyog Foundation at the Palm Grove Ramada Plaza on Sunday, saw many prominent citizens in attendance. Apart from family,Mahesh and Haseena Jethmalani, also present were actor-turned politician Shatrughan Sinha, filmmaker Govind Nihalani, actor Tabassum and industrialist Ashok Hinduja.

Bummer It was meant to be a non-glamourous event, but surely style queen Haseena should not have disappointed. The bling dupatta on the dull kurta just makes us wince.

Visual extravaganza
The diverse mix of glass coffee-tables,funky clocks in metallic colours, ceramic lamp shades and intricately worked oak tables had design aficionados and neophytes alike charmed at the launch of Red,Blue and Yellow’s new furniture collection. Cocktails and wine kept the mood soaring. Guests at the party included Aki Narula,Kunal and Gayatri Ganjawalla,Mahesh Mathai,Soni

Razdan,Bharat Dabolkar,Deven Khote and Geetu Hinduja who were all seen lavishly complimenting the talented trio of Red,Blue and Yellow’s designers Asim Merchant,Paul Rodrigues and Karishma Bajaj (who looked resplendent in a lemon yellow sheath dress).

Showstopper Kudos to the DJ for the fantastic reggae and hip-hop music that really pepped up the mood of the party and saw many sashay their way to the dance floor.
